I have been Head of RE, Pastoral Lead and Head of PSHE & Citizenship in my 19 year teaching career. I am currently Head of PSHE & Citizenship at a large secondary school 11-18. My shop includes: PSHE and Citizenship sessions, Assemblies, Tutor Time activities SMSC, Fundamental British Values and Religious Education. They are fully resourced RE or Citizenship lessons, worksheets or 15 minute assemblies/tutor time PSHE sessions suitable for 11-18 and some can also be used for younger audiences.

This is a 15 minute assembly or tutor time PSHE session outlining the issue of body shaming. It covers definitions, the consequences of body shaming, the feelings it involves, statistics and discussion activities about who is guilty of body shaming and what can be done about it. This does not contain any written activities but could easily be lengthened to last a whole lesson. There are three short downloaded video clips that will never disappear. This session fits into the new RSHE curriculum and the PSHE curriculum and is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13 but more suitable for KS3 and KS4 for an assembly or tutor time session.

It covers definitions, different coping strategies and goes through the grieving process. It also has a slide of support for students coping with bereavement and three short downloaded video clips that will never disappear. This fits in with the new RSHE curriculum, the PSHE curriculum and the Keeping Children Safe in Education document.

This is a comprehensive list of all of the online free training courses available for staff to improve their knowledge about topics in the new RSE and Health Curriculum and aid their teaching of PSHE and Citizenship. Each training course has their website, their relevance, timings etc so it is a full list which can be used in a staff training session or put on the Staff online area for people to access throughout the year to complete extra PSHE training courses. Relevant to all Secondary School staff with any interest in PSHE, RSE, safeguarding or mental health.

This is a 15-30 minute tutor time session celebrating deaf awareness week. However, it can also be used for deaf awareness at any time of the year. It is suitable for KS3-KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18, Grade 6-12). It was originally a Citizenship session for the whole school. It includes: Information about deaf awareness week Information about how many deaf people there are in the UK Information about the devices people use A downloaded and clipped video which will never disappear about what ‘deaf’ means How we can support those in the deaf community What British Sign Language is and why it is important Activity and infographic getting students to sign their own name A connection to Fundamental British Values, UN Rights of a Child and a Reflection task Other links to watch the news There are discussion and activities throughout but this could easily be changed into written tasks to last a whole lesson if required. It includes dual coding and logos throughout. This presentation was well received by all year groups and many have gone on to learn BSL as a result. This is a 15 minute PSHE resource, assembly or tutor time session for KS3-KS5. It was originally a Year 9 PSHE tutor time session but is suitable for Years 7-13, Ages 11-18. This is a different session that my other ‘Positivity’ session. It is suitable for KS3-KS4 (Years 7-11, Ages 11-16) for a 15 minute assembly, tutor time or PSHE session. It can also be lengthened easily to make a whole lesson. It includes why we need to and how we can remain positive, information, downloaded videos and a plenary quiz and some questions to finish. This is linked to the new RSE and Health Curriculum and the general PSHE curriculum but it can be used as a tutor time session or an assembly.

It has some interactive anagrams, discussion activities and three downloaded video clips that will never disappear! It was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 7 but can be used for any year group at KS2 - KS4 (Years 5-11 Ages 9-16) and is suitable to be used as an assembly or whole school session.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly or tutor time PSHE or whole school session which is fully narrated and designed for Upper KS2, KS3, KS4 & KS5 (Ages 9-18, Years 5-13). It outlines: What anger is What the symptoms of anger are Strategies to control your anger 2 downloaded video clips that will never disappear giving more coping strategies Things you should not do when you are angry and things you should try to do instead 2 case studies for students to discuss as a class what the two students should do in their situations concerning anger management How to access support for anger management (this is specific to Birmingham, West Midlands but can easily be adapted to anywhere else) There are discussion questions and quotes to aid discussion and these can be turned into written activities if you want to make this session last a whole lesson. There are two downloaded video clips that will never disappear and it is narrated although you can delete this by just deleting the icon on each slide if you would prefer. This session contributes to ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ and the new Relationships & Sexual Education and Health Education. It also highlights Safeguarding, British values and can be used as part of the PSHE curriculum. It can easily be adapted if needed but covers all the necessary guidance. Pupils have responded very well to this presentation in the past and I have updated it for this year.

This is a 10-15 minute tutor time resource about British Values. It could be used for an assembly or PSHE/Citizenship/FBV/SMSC session. It explains what the five British values are, how these should be implemented, a discussion about universal values, a focus on the first two values. - Democracy and the Rule of Law. There are many discussion tasks and these could be written tasks if you wanted to lengthen it to a whole lesson. There are three short videos that are downloaded so will never disappear. This was originally an assembly for KS3-KS5 but can also be used as a tutor time session for KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5 and is suitable for all year groups (Ages 8-18, Years 4-13). This gives a great overview of British Values and has been positively received by many students.

This is a 10-20 minute assembly about the importance of sleep suitable for KS3-KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). It contains two short video clips that are downloaded so they will never disappear. This session covers: Why sleep is important What sleep deprivation is What happens to your brain and body if you don’t have enough sleep How much sleep a teenager needs How could a lack of sleep affect you at school NHS tips on how to get a good night’s sleep A true and false quiz to check learning and understanding. This fits into the new Relationships and Health Education curriculum and can be easily lengthened to last for a whole lesson if needed. There are discussion tasks and videos to watch and a plenary task. Students reacted very positively to this session. It was originally a Year 7 tutor time PSHE session but can be used for any secondary school year group as an assembly.

It was originally a tutor time PSHE session for Year 7 but is suitable for any short pastoral time with KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13). This is a 15-20 minute assembly about the dangers of ketamine. This is suitable for upper KS3-KS5 (Years 9-13, Ages 13-18) and fits well into the new RSE & Health curriculum, the PSHE & Citizenship curriculum as well as the Keeping children Safe in Education Safesguarding document. It contains: What ketamine is The dangers and risks of the drug Discussion about the class of the drug A short video clip about how ketamine can affect you A short video clip with a case study about addiction and the consequences of taking the drug There are no written activities in this session only discussion tasks but it could easily be lengthened to last a whole lesson. The video clips are both downloaded so they will never disappear! This session was received well by the students and covers an important part of modern day drug education.

This is a 15-20 minute assembly or PSHE tutor time session for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13) about social media. It goes through the legal restrictions of different platforms, the advantages and disadvantages of social media and the addiction it can cause. There are discussion activities and videos but no written activities. The three short video clips are downloaded so will never disappear. The presentation will last approximately 15 minutes but can be lengthened or shortened easily to fit a whole lesson. This fits into the new Relationships & Health Education Curriculum, Keeping Children Safe in Education, Mental Health focus, SMSC & FBV agendas. Students reacted very well to this session.

This is a 10-15 minute assembly to celebrate and focus on the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia. This is a 15-20 minute assembly on homophobia. It lasts 15-20 minutes and includes discussion questions and a downloaded video that will never disappear. It gives students sources of support and guides them through the legal implications of hate crime, particularly homophobia and transphobia. This was delivered to Year 7 in a tutor time PSHE session but is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18, Grades 6-12) and could be used as an assembly instead. There are no written tasks in this PowerPoint. This fits into the new RSE and Health Curriculum and is a useful whole school tutor time session to approach the issue of homophobia in schools.

This is a presentation for KS2 - KS4 (possibly more suited to Years 6-8) which contains definitions, information, advice, NHS tips and a quiz and reflection question as a plenary. It is suitable for a 10-15 minute tutor time session, assembly or PSHE session. It can easily be lengthened for a whole lesson by getting students to create a menu using all of the tips they have been given. It has been used successfully with Year 7 & 8 students and links to the new RSE and Health Education Curriculum.

This was originally planned for Year 9 during tutor time but can be used throughout KS3 - KS5 (Years 7-13, Ages 11-18). It is linked to the new RSE and Health Curriculum and can also be used to complement the Keeping Safe in Education guidance. This has been received well by students and has taught them how to seek help if needed.
